Qld: Hanson warns Howard of backlash in next election
One Nation Leader PAULINE HANSON has warned Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD to beware of
a backlash in the federal election similar to what has decimated the Coalition in the
Queensland election.
One Nation is expected to bring home at least three seats in the Labor dominated Queensland
state parliament.
Ms HANSON has told the Nine Network it's a backlash against JOHN HOWARD, saying people
don't vote only on state issues.
She says the result is a backlash against the GST, deregulation of the dairy industry
and fuel prices.
Ms HANSON says she expects to leave her job as an adviser to One Nation Senator LEN
HARRIS and work for one of her new MPs in the Queensland parliament.
She's also confirmed she'll still be working towards gaining a Senate seat in the next
federal election.
Ms HANSON says One Nation has replaced the nationals and Liberal parties in many areas
of Queensland.
She says the party has given the people of Queensland somebody else to vote for other
than the major political parties.
